Pastor Ron Magnuson
Our beloved Pastor Emeritus, Ron Magnuson, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 6, 2018.
Pastor Ron had a great impact on many people, and it’s hard to imagine where our church would be without his leadership and grace-filled presence. Ron served as pastor of Harbert Community Church for 26 years, from 1970 to 1996. Our current sanctuary and the classroom wing of our building was built during his tenure, and he leaves behind a rich legacy of those he served through his ministry. Over the past 22 years, he has continued to be a part of our congregation participating in worship, singing in the choir, and participating in our Tuesday morning men’s breakfast and Bible study.
Pastor Ron’s influence has extended far beyond our church. He has served in a variety of leadership roles in our denominational family, the Evangelical Covenant Church, and he has been a reliable mentor, patient teacher, and loving friend to countless others. In the midst of our grief, we remember God’s grace evident in Ron’s life, and we rejoice in the hope of our faith and the promise of new life to come.
