WORSHIP MUSIC AT HCC:
SINGERS: Whether soprano, alto, bass or tenor—all singers are invited to join their voice with the choir. Rehearsals are every Thursday at 7:00pm Eastern Time. Under the direction of Carrie J. VanDenburgh, the choir sings during 10:30am Sunday Worship and at the Christmas Eve worship service. The choir also presents a much anticipated Christmas Concert every year during the season of Advent. The ability to read music is helpful. Interested singers are invited to join in on a Thursday night rehearsal. (The choir does not rehearse or sing in the summer.)
HANDBELLS: The handbell choir rehearses at the church for one hour on Tuesday evenings, and performs at the church approximately 5 times per year. Membership is open to anyone, with a preferred age of high school and over. The ability to read music is helpful. Those interested in playing handbells should contact the office for more information. (The group does not rehearse or ring during the summer.)
MUSICIANS: Worship music at HCC incorporates any number of instruments, from piano, guitar, keyboard, organ, and woodwinds, to strings, brass and percussion. Skilled musicians interested in sharing their musical gifts in worship should speak with HCC Music Director, Jill Garcia.
SPECIAL MUSIC: During the summer months, in the choir’s off-season, a variety of singers, ensembles, groups, and musicians are scheduled for each Sunday to present special sacred music. Speak with HCC Music Director, Jill Garcia, for more information.
